Instructor - Sensei Bruce Sabine
Karate has played a pivotal role in my life and my experiences associated with Jyoshinmon Shorin-Ryu has made me the person that I am today.
One of my highlights throughout my Karate journey was training in Japan at various dojos, learning how to improve myself both in my martial arts, but also in character – learning extensively about Jyoshinmon philosophy.
My aspiration in Karate is to pass on my knowledge to the younger generation. In my younger years, I spent a lot of time competing, coaching and refereeing, but I feel now that is vitally important and necessary, that we share knowledge we have learnt over the years, in the hopes of inspiring the younger generation.
I am also a high school teacher of Science and I largely attribute my ambition for teaching, to the opportunities I have been fortunate enough to experience through karate.
Overall, I hope to see students grow in values such as confidence, respect and perseverance and Karate is a perfect catalyst for growth in these said areas.
