Overall the Oceania Championships was a great tournament to gain a little more international competition. The New Zealand Team came second overall on the medal table, the first time Australia has beaten us for a number of years.
The tournament ran a little late and while Harry was initially meant to be on the mat at 10.30am, he didn’t get to compete until 6.30pm. It was hard to stay focussed for this period of time. Even so Harry still managed to get Bronze in the Individual Cadet Kumite -63kg and Silver in the Cadet Team event.

I sat the first of the Oceania Referee exams and Passed the First Level for both Kumite Judge and Kata Judge.
It was a long couple of days and the last day of competition didn’t finish until well past 10pm, with the national anthem played over 60 times at the medal presentations.
Ouss,
Sensei Jason Ng
