Well done to our 9 Jyoshinmon members at the Central North Island Karate Championships - each achieving 1 or 2 medal placings! This year the event was held in Tauranga at the Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre and organised by Karate Auckland Inc.
Shihan David Bennett, Sensei Beaty Bennett and Sensei Chris Bennett were coaching our team and assisting were Senpai Zak Scott and Jose Castillo. Zak also helped to judge some of the events. Senpai Jojina Scott and Sian Scott assisting as Table Staff for Sportdata entry.
Officiating at both Kata and Kumite events was Sensei Jason Ng who is an A-Grade National Referee and Judge for Karate New Zealand. Thank you to the parents who provided much need support and a special mention to Cheryl MacDonald for taking videos of our competitors in action.
