We are at the last week of training for all 5 Dojos and it's been an eventful 2024!
2024 has been a very eventful year particularly with the team trip to Tokyo to celebrate 55 years of Jyoshinmon Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do in Japan.
We had a record-breaking number of students grade for 1st Kyu and Shodan Ho at the November-December Grading.
END OF YEAR PARTIES
The Juniors (aged 16 years and under) had their party at the Onehunga Pools on Saturday 7th December, and everyone brought a plate of food to share. Unfortunately the BBQ wasn't working properly on the day but there was plenty to eat!
Luckily the weather got sunnier and everyone had a great time if a little sunburnt. This event is always a good opportunity to socialise with all the students and families outside of gradings.
The Seniors had their party at the Sake Bar in Epsom on Friday 13th December. This event is mainly for Dan grades from all Dojos but adult students and parents are welcome to join.
We always have the set meal and as the drinks flowed, so did the Karaoke singing. Much fun was had by all!

TOURNAMENTS IN 2025
There will be more encouragement for all students to compete at tournaments arranged by Karate New Zealand next year. We also hope to hold a couple of interclub tournaments with the aim to host the Annual Jyoshinmon National Tournament at the end of the year.
More information will be provided in the coming newsletters.
DOJO CLASS DATES
Please note when classes start up again in 2025 on the Club Notices page.
We very much look forward to seeing you all in the new year!
