Well done to the 20 Jyoshinmon team members who competed at the Auckland Classic Tournament!
This event was organised by Karate Auckland and the format was Round-Robin. This allowed everyone in a division to compete against each other, which provides more mat time and the necessary experience to improve their performance.
Sensei Jason Ng made the opening welcome as Chairperson of Karate Auckland. Sensei Jason was also one of the attending National Referees for both Kata and Kumite. Senpai Jojina Scott was one of the Regional Judges.
Shihan David Bennett, Sensei Beaty Bennett, Sensei Chris Bennett and Sensei Chante Betham were our Coaches, and Sensei Chris also provided tech support of Sportdata for the Table Staff.
For a couple of our members, this was their first tournament with almost all placed in the top 3!
A big Thank You to the parents and Jyoshinmon member who provided support, especially those who helped as Table Staff - Ngaio and Tony (parents of Noah Jones), Kirsten MacDonald and Seraphine Williams. Senpai Sian Scott, who is recovering from her knee reconstruction, helped the Table Staff on how to marshall and use Sportdata. Our Senior members were also enlisted as Judges and Referees - Zak Scott, Jose Castillo, Sevita Laufoli.
