It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Soke Hoshu Ikeda - the Founder of Jyoshinmon Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do - on 24th August 2016. As he requested the funeral was private, just the family.
We have such good memories of our times together with Soke and family here in New Zealand, New Caledonia and mostly Japan.
Soke Hoshu Ikeda was one of a kind, a person who can never be replaced. He was a legend in his own time. Our visits to Japan will never be the same.
Our sincere condolences to Mikiko Sensei, Soo Shihan Ai Ikeda, Jun Wada, Aiyumi, the Ikeda Family in Kakoshima and Tokyo, and the Jyoshinmon family in Japan.
Rest in peace Soke Hoshu Ikeda.
