NewsThe Auckland Championships included the Auckland Secondary Schools Karate Championships, which was held in the afternoon and gave opportunity for practising karateka from secondary schools in the Auckland and Northland region to compete.
Great effort by the whole team and unfortunately some were very unlucky not to get a medal placing this time. Also some members were not able to compete - Josh Emmerson, Juan Castillo and Sian Scott. Senpai Zak Scott could not compete in the Senior Male Kumite division.
Awesome coaching as always by Shihan David Bennett, Sensei Beaty Bennett and Sensei Chris Bennett. Jumping to assist was Senpai Zak Scott for judging some of the junior divisions. Senpai Jojina Scott at one of the Tables for Sportdata entry, and Sian Scott taking photos and videos for both the club and Karate New Zealand.
Sensei Jason Ng officiating for both Kata and Kumite divisions as KNZ A-Grade National Referee and Judge. Thank you to the parents who were on hand to cheer and provide support to the whole team!
