NewsA relatively small but enjoyable tournament at the Northland ASB Stadium and organised by Karate Auckland. A minute's silence was held in respect for the passing of Shihan Bob Dalton, Chief Instructor of Karatedo Shitoryu New Zealand based in Whangarei, who was especially missed at this tournament by the karate community.
Sensei Beaty Bennett and Sensei Chris Bennett coached our team and helped with the running of the event. Senpai Zak volunteered to referee on Mat 2.
Four of our 5-member team got medal placings. Unfortunately Mason Stewart failed to win a medal in his age group this time but looked to have a lot of potential.
