Premier Karate Open tournament organised by Karate Auckland in association with Karate New Zealand, the official governing body of karate in New Zealand. The tournament was held at the AMI Netball Stadium in Auckland, with international competitors from Japan and France.
We had 10 Jyoshinmon team members who did very well though Caitlyn Peyroux-Bob and Jose Castillo were unlucky in getting a medal placing this time.
Coaching our team were Shihan David Bennett, Sensei Beaty Bennett, and Sensei Chris Bennett. Shihan and Sensei Beaty were also invited to present the trophies to the 1st Place competitors.
It's good to see this event increase in prominence in the Karate calendar each year.
