2025 WHAU CHINESE NEW YEAR FESTIVAL
Date: Sunday 23rd February
Time: 3 PM – 9 PM
Location: Olympic Park Playground, New Lynn
Jyoshinmon Shorin-Ryu Karate-do will be the only martial arts club at this event which is being organised through Synergy Sports Centre. Our club will have a marquee at the venue and we will be promoting all 5 Jyoshinmon Dojos.
There will be an opportunity to perform a 10 to 15-minute demonstration though the schedule is yet to be confirmed. We would very much appreciate members of all ages to attend the demonstration.
So please let us know if you wish to take part in the demonstration which would be what we teach in class such as kata and kumite basics.
We would also appreciate volunteers throughout the day spending some time to hand out flyers and mainly be a presence at our stand. This way we can take turns to view the other activities of the festival.
TRAINING SEMINAR WITH ASEN D’JAMIRZE

Time: 1.30 – 4.30 PM

To All Karate Auckland Member Clubs
In collaboration with the Ellerslie Karate Club, Karate Auckland is pleased to announce that we have arranged a subsidised training seminar with International Kumite Coach Asen D’Jamirze.
The Seminar is open to all Karate Auckland member clubs and will cater for club members and coaches of all ages, ranks and style affiliation.
Karate Auckland have arranged the regional seminar as a lead in to our first Regional event of the year – the Auckland Karate League Championship Round 1 on 9 March 2025 at the Auckland Netball Centre Stadium (more details to follow about the new Auckland Karate League over 4 rounds this year culminating in Auckland Grand Champions).
Asen was a successful competitor with Australia who has built impressive coaching credentials working with the late Antonio Oliva and was the former Olympic Head Coach for the Chinese Karate Federation. His wide experience with proven training methods matches his innate understanding of how to add value for New Zealand Karate athletes.
We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible for our first regional event of the year. No need to pre-register, just turn up on the day. Any queries ring Auckland Chair Leonard on 021 402302.
